It has been an incredibly challenging year for the people of Haiti. Week by week, month by month, the gangs seized more and more control. At one point, even our own Maternity Center was forced to close as territorial battles overtook our community and gunfire entered our peaceful space.

What we might accomplish each day was first filtered through the lens of gang activity and the location of lookouts, always considering how we might pass unnoticed and avoid conflict or confrontation, so that we can continue this vital work.

We are saddened that this has become the new normal in and around Port-au-Prince for any organization seeking to do good. We are encouraged, however, by the fact that amid incredible strife, the Heartline model is working.

Heartline Haiti’s 2024 Year in Review summarizes the incredible impact supporters like you have made in Haiti these past twelve months.
