Scholarship Fund Update: Spring 2025

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
- Nelson Mandela

The Heartline Scholarship Fund continues to grow, and Heartline donors are making a tremendous impact by investing in scholarship recipients!

Pursuing dreams

We have a few students in the home stretch, with just months to go before graduation, and many more putting another year behind them as they go after their educational goals!

Charles

Charles joins us from the Heartline Community Care Team. After serving for over three years, he has decided to pursue higher education by enrolling in the Computer Science program at American University of the Caribbean, and he’s got another year under his belt! Well done, Charles! We’re proud of you.

Gayardo

Gayardo, a graduate of our Cité Soleil Student Sponsorship program, is finishing up his third year of pre-med. He is focused and driven to give back to the community he came from. We’re cheering for Gayardo every step of the way!

Farana

Farana serves with the Heartline Community Care Team when we visit the women’s prison.

She’s progressing through a two-year hospitality program, and will be graduating in 2026! .

Nephetalie

In the footsteps of Scholarship Program participants Rebecca and Gayardo, Nepthalie is beginning her journey toward a degree in medicine.

Also a member of the Heartline Community Care Team, Nepthalie was inspired by her work at the women’s prison to pursue medicine and invest in those in need who might otherwise not have access to medical care.

Roosevelt

Roosevelt also joins us from the Heartline Community Care Team! A relatively new team member, he’s joined Charles at American University of the Caribbean and is finishing up his first year in the Electrical Engineering program.

Sabine

Sabine, the daughter of a Heartline employee, is almost finished with her cosmetology studies. She’ll now be able to offer a wide range of services through her business, including hair, nails, and more!

Bedjo

Bedjo, also a graduate of our Cité Soleil sponsorship program, will be starting his final year of study towards a degree in Computer Science. With his junior year almost complete, he’s able to see the finish line thanks to your generous support!

Jonise

Jonise is married to our Operations Director, Moise. She had a dream to attend cooking school, and your generosity made it possible! She will graduate in June and use her new skills to seek employment in a local restaurant or cafe.

You can open the doors of education to students in Haiti!

Consider a gift to Heartline’s general fund, which equips us to operate programs that invest holistically in Haitian families.

You can also directly support our Scholarship Fund, which covers scholarship recipients' tuition, textbooks, and fees so they can focus on their education.

Thank you for all you do to support education access in Haiti — for students like Sabine, Jonise, Roosevelt, Charles, Gayardo, Bedjo, Farana, Nephthalie, and so many more!
